The art of fermentation

Fermentation processes have been used by humans all over the world for hundreds of thousands of years. We have worked in collaboration with microbial systems to transform foods and communities since 10,000 BCE.

A ferment is a state of agitation or a catalyst for change. At Nomadic Roots we acknowledge that fermentation is not only the age-old tradition of transforming raw foods but also a tool for enacting more widespread change. We see fermentation as an art, one that is dynamic and while rooted in centuries of tradition, is also open to experimentation and change.

Our goal is to bring people together to share in the incredible products and process of fermentation.
